Keirn

Keirn is a portfolio operating system for your organization's intellectual capital. It connects the systems your knowledge already lives in. It helps teams discover, organize, protect, and build upon the work that defines them.

The name comes from a keep and a cairn. A keep is a place for the tools we use to do our work. It is a repository for things we want to keep, to keep in mind, and to keep safe from harm. A cairn is a constructed stone landmark. It is a trace to mark the path, a way to keep someone else following a trail, or a vantage point for what they see ahead.

Keirn started as a single question. What if an organization kept its knowledge the way a museum keeps a collection, curated, protected, and connected? Tools built for folders and wikis were never meant for that. The answer became a portfolio operating system. Each piece of knowledge is discovered as worth keeping, kept as a Living Record, protected, and allowed to compound on the records before it.

Four principles guide the system. A record is alive. It carries evidence, contributors, confidence, and an audit rather than a static file. Protection is a practice. Status, attestations, and reviews keep IP defensible over time. Discovery is continuous. Sources sync on an ongoing basis so the portfolio stays current. And knowledge is a graph. Relationships surface connections and patterns that flat lists hide. Together they turn scattered files into a body of work that stays useful as it grows.
